A BOSS Metal Zone replica, I’d say. Same adjustment possibilities, distributed over 6 controls instead of two. In addition to bass and treble controls, there is a mid control with adjustable frequency range.
I compared it with the BOSS Hyper Metal HM‑3: It distorts alright, but the BOSS pedal still manages to SING at the same time. You can’t keep up with that as a budget stompbox.
Another things that’s slightly irritating, at least when comparing it to the original: Level and distortion controls are arranged the other way round. A sign of independence?
And I have another point of criticism: the colour. It’s not good.
And that is not good. Because as JHS’s Josh Scott rightly says:
If you like the colour it’s gonna make you play better.
